CHAI SUITE – A musical performance inspired by Dancing Ruby
🫖 When ritual becomes atmosphere

As part of the Brussels Tea Festival®, a new musical work, Suite Chai, will be presented in both audio and visual form. Composed by Kian Eslamzadeh and inspired by the Dancing Ruby olfactory project, this suite offers a musical interpretation of Persian chai, blending memory, tradition, and migration.

Written for an orchestra of young musicians based in Iran, Suite Chai interweaves the sounds of China, Japan, and rural Iran, particularly those of rice and tea farmers. The work follows the historical journey of chai, from the Far East to Persia, while paying tribute to the central place of chai in Iranian culture, far beyond the beverage.

This unique performance, in audio format accompanied by a visual slideshow, was made possible thanks to the collaboration of Roya Nadafi (curator and producer of the project) and Guita Moussazadeh.
