Before enjoying the tea, let's prepare the space!
In this workshop, participants are introduced to the four main principles of chanoyu. They discover Japanese tatami etiquette and are invited to handle tea utensils, understanding their role and symbolism. Finally, they are tasked with arranging the utensils and creating a chabana (the chanoyu flower arrangement), just as a true tea ceremony host would.

At the Paris Tea Festival, children and teenagers are invited to immerse themselves in the refined world of chanoyu, the Japanese tea ceremony.

Inspired by the chadō clubs found in Japanese schools, these workshops offer an immersive, sensitive, and fun experience, allowing young visitors to discover a centuries-old art through gestures, symbolism, and tasting.

Cecilia, a chajin of the Omotesenke school, has been passionate about the art of chanoyu for many years. She leads demonstrations and workshops for all audiences, especially young people, with a caring and educational approach, faithful to the spirit of chadō.
