Tea, the drink some called "the ambrosia of the gods," offers us much more than just a moment of pleasure...
Where did it come from? How did it arrive in Europe?
In what form, carried by which ships, who were its supporters and who were its detractors?
🔎 This walk invites you on a historical and cultural journey through the streets of the Bourse district, a hub of trade with China in the 18th century.
From the port of Canton to the trading posts of Lorient, via the Parisian salons... tea will guide you, step by step, to sometimes unexpected discoveries.
Your guide, Philippe Tonnerre, will meet you in front of the Palais Brogniart, Place de la Bourse.
Departure at 2 p.m.: be on time!
